Warren’s Portraits in Studio

by dav.d

Finding models can sometimes be a challenge. I was working on a project and they needed photos of a male person of color. I knew Warren from social circles and he was happy to help out. It was a small paid gig and as an added bonus I offered a portrait session in studio so he could have some updated Facebook photos and photos he could use in a modeling portfolio. A win-win for everyone.

I should have blogged these photos a long time ago. I have already blogged a few Photoshop composites I created of Warren. He was a great guy and fun to work with. I’m always a bit nervous working with someone new in front of the camera. A photographer and model need to build a quick relationship in hopes of creating something for the camera. If there is no relationship the photos can fall a bit flat.

We swapped the background between white and black. The white background can look grey depending on how you light or don’t light it. And the studio has a changing room and a restroom so models and clients can change outfits. I never limit the numbers of wardrobe changes. You can change as many times in the time we have allotted. If we have an hour photo shoot… do all you can in an hour. Pretty simple, maybe stressful.
