On Saturday I shot video and photography for the 2018 Walk for Life and the Utah AIDS Foundation. It’s a challenge to do both at the same time, especially when it is an event! And the photos and the video turned out great.
See all the photographs on my SmugMug webpage.
Here is the video I shot and edited. I edit right now in Final Cut Pro because it is pretty dang fast for editing. I’m still a beginner and I am enjoying the practice. Let me know what you think about the video. Given time, I should also make a 15 second video and a 30 second video. Those play pretty well on social media.
Since I was using my main camera to shoot the video, I was shooting photographs with my small little Fuji camera. And I’m hoping that I can upgrade that camera on Thursday!
This year, I tried to capture the dogs that show up. They are pretty fluffy and have their own personality. And they don’t cooperate with photos or video very much.
This year they had two Zumba instructors warm up the crowd. They dance a few numbers and then it was time to walk.
The path they follow goes down by the Salt Lake Farmers Market and then over to the Gallivan Center. Along the way they had two water stations for people and pups.
It was also fun for the families who walked. They brought their kids on scooters, bikes, and wagons. There were balloons!
At the very end they had a taco truck! If I wasn’t shooting so much video and photo, I would have bought some tacos! #nummers
