Event photography helped me cut my teeth as a photographer. It’s a great way to learn skills focus, composition, action, people, portraiture, and more. A lot going on and a lot to capture. I have been the event photographer for the Walk for Life and the Utah AIDS Foundation for a number of years now. It is held each September in Salt Lake City. It has moved around a little bit and lately it starts at the City Creek Center in SLC and walks through the streets of the city.
The Walk for Life raises money for the Utah AIDS Foundation and their mission to help people living with HIV/AIDS in Utah. They also have programs to educate the public and to test for the virus and other STIs in Utah. Their next walk is approaching quickly. Go to Utah AIDS Foundation to learn more. The date is 15 September 2018.
And it is a chance to bring your dog! I suppose you could bring a cat but they don’t usually walk on a leash. Dogs are much better at walking and posing for the camera.
This tiny tot was adorable. I took several photographs of her with the big glasses… I doubt that was her coffee, but it makes a great photograph. It’s a fun family affair to come get some exercise and support a wonderful cause that changes the lives of Utahns.
And Cheer Salt Lake was on hand to perform a few routines and get the crowd excited. Then there was some Zumba warm ups and people walked. Yay!
It’s a lot of photos, and so check them out. It’s a longer blog post. I should be there this year, so I hope to see you!
