This blog post will be more interesting to my fellow photographers. Although, other people can still read the post… if they want.
In Utah County there is a studio that is run as a co-op. The Utah County Studio Co-op is a group of photographers who rent and run a studio space in Lindon, Utah. Studio space like a lot of business fronts can be expensive, especially for one person. So a number of photographers banded together to split costs and time. And once a month, usually the second Tuesday of the month they have a training or class that is open to any photographer. They don’t check ID so it is sort of open to anyone who is interested in photography or the business of photography.
I’ve been able to attend a few of these events. I even taught a class on off camera lighting. There have been classes on Photoshop compositing, studio lighting with softboxes, light modifiers and how to use them, and more recently a panel discussion on the state of wedding photography in Utah.
I can’t help but take a few photographs while I am attending. So these photos are from about 3 different meetups. There are some talented photographers in Utah and it is fun to share and learn together. It might be a bit of a drive if you are from Salt Lake City or Ogden, but it is worth it.
And the studio space is available for rent. Some of the rental information is available on their website.
