It is about 8º F outside right now, so let’s dream of summer time and yummy cupcakes. I got my start photographing food at events and weddings. The food before it is served is often styled and begging for a photograph. Often I would use one light to make the food look it’s best, but on occasion the natural light of the event was enough to make people hungry.
Lemon & Lavender cupcakes
These cupcakes were at a summer wedding and being tiny and lined in rows just makes the perfect food photograph. There have been times where I bought cupcakes from the store and then photographed them. A food photographer’s job can sometimes be limited to the lighting and composition. Other times we get to play the stylist and put everything together. It’s a lot of fun.
