I was hired by Le Croissant Catering to photograph the design and setup of a steampunk themed wedding. Steampunk is a mix of science fiction with 19th century fashion with an emphasis on steam power. So everyone wears goggles, hats, vests, and everything is spray painted metallic. It can have a bit of a western flare as was the case for this wedding.
There was an official wedding photographer and I always like to introduce myself and mention I will stay out of their way and be a fly on the wall as much as possible while photographing the work of the caterer. In these cases I focus on the decor, food, appetizers, catering staff, and anything Le Croissant worked on. They are more than just food! They will arrange and design the furniture, tents, seating, flowers, and the whole event! They are a one stop shop for your event or wedding needs.
It was a rainy day which is good that they arranged for a see through tent for the event. I was there for about 2 hours and also photographed wedding guests getting food and the interaction between caterers and guests.
Afterwards I thought I need to work on a steampunk outfit of my own. Or maybe I should just have a steampunk themed photo shoot. That would be fun with some photoshopped backgrounds?
