Yes, I am a photographer with a day job. And the company I work for does a great job in taking care of their employees. Each year they have a summer party and they have been renting out Lagoon, the amusement park in Farmington, Utah. Because the park is limited to employees and their families the lines are shorter and we can hit all the major rides in a few hours. I always try and bring a camera to get some fun amusement park photographs. I created a few fun photos of some of the big rides.
Sure camera phones are convenient but you can’t zoom very well if at all. And the sensor size is limiting. I get awesome quality with a larger sensor. I’m using a Canon M for the camera on this trip. This is the one time it is acceptable to wear cargo shorts. The camera fits in the side pocket and I don’t have to worry about leaving the camera behind or locking it in a locker.
Hooray for amusement parks. It is no Disneyland but at least it satisfies a roller coaster craving on occasion. Now I need to make it to Disneyland! Mmmmm, Disneyland.
