I had the opportunity to see Sister Dottie S. Dixon in her previous one woman play. She decided to perform again at the Salt Lake Acting Company. Sister Dottie S. Dixon is a fictional character created by and acted by Charles Lynn Frost. So I will be referring to Dottie in this article all credit goes to Charles for his amazing performance.
Sister Dottie’s play revolves around the loss of her husband finding out the demons her son has had to deal with with drug use. A lot of real topics that face many families in America. You laugh, you cry, and you want more.
Sister Dixon tells her story in the first person and does a remarkable job. One person plays can really be a challenge and she does a wonderful job.
These are just the production photos. For the play I actually had a huge roll in creating slides and images for Dottie to show off during key parts of the play. She would have slideshows and other images during the scene to help tell the story. I might share those in a different blog post. We shall see.
Charles Lynn Frost has been awarded the Grand Marshal award from the Utah Pride Center and has been recognized for his work as Dottie. He is a regular guest as Sister Dottie on x96 Radio from Hell.
