I was one of several photographers at Ignite 2018 which was held at the Adobe building in Lehi, Utah. It is a conference for LGBTQ youth and their family to learn, network, and have new experiences. They had a ton of VIP talent to speak, perform, and entertain.
Some of the VIPs included Alexis G Zall, Jeffery Marsh, Tegan Quin, Vincint, Mindy Gledhill, Wrabel, Foreign Figures, Kalen Allen, and Carmen Carrera.
And I was able to create the big group photo and then we threw in many of the iconic volunteers. These kind of events are powered by volunteers. Yay!
Many of the workshops are craft or art based. In one they were making blankets and others they were making paper crafts.
The event was so large they had to use the VISA building in Lehi as well. At the location parents and families discussed coming out, suicide, health issues, and even time for FAQs. Some powerful discussions were had.
One workshop discussed gender identity, emotional attraction, physical attraction, and more… using a unicorn of course.
The evening was capped off with performances, talks, and more. It was a pretty cool day.
One room was also used for singing time. One person would play pop songs and people were encouraged to sing along.
