Who hasn’t participated in a corporate retreat or team building activity? Usually they involve trust falls or maybe even surprise trust falls. The Asian Association of Utah hired me to photograph their team building activity at a location by Utah Lake down in Utah County. The location has small boat cruises, climbing walls, and more.
They didn’t use the climbing wall, which would have been awesome, but they did have a variety of group puzzle games. They had to work together to solve a problem or untangle a knot. They had to guide someone who was blindfolded to achieve a certain goal.
I had my lighting kit on hand but I didn’t use it this time. I went with natural light and it allowed me to be a bit more of a ninja. I try and stay out of the way but sometimes you need to be right there to get the shot. These are just a few of the photographs I took for the event.
I don’t want to say event photography is a speciality but I do pretty dang good job getting the whole event photographed. I like the candid photography best. I even took a few photographs of the decor which was geared for Halloween. The location also has events for families. During the Christmas season they have Christmas lights on the river and you can get a boat ride to enjoy the lights.
