My day job is working for Nu Skin in Provo, Utah. And every 2 years they hold their worldwide convention for their distributors. In 2017 they called the event LIVE! Much of the event was broadcast world wide in addition to the 15,000+ people who traveled to Salt Lake City.
It is a busy week for an event photographer. I shot about 10,000 photographs for the week! I also walked about 30,000 steps each day. It was a lot of fun though.
There are musical numbers, performances, they added a number of fun features such as food trucks, jugglers, street painters, bands, and a talent show. They introduce new products and they train distributors in the business of direct marketing.
Direct marketing is a lot of work and you need to break out of your introvert shell and talk to anyone and everyone about the business.
In addition to the main entertainment different markets sent their own talented distributors for a Nu Skin’s Got Talent Competition. about 5 to 6 different groups or individuals performed with Korea winning it all. The prize was money donated to a charity of their choice.
Life is fun and challenging as an event photographer. There isn’t a lot of down time and you need equipment that works and a comfortable pair of shoes to get around. But you get a pass into all the cool areas!
