I had the opportunity to photograph several employees at Nu Skin for an updated Careers Page on the company’s website. Companies are constantly hunting for talent and skilled people to fit into the goals of work. I was able to use some new camera and lighting gear, woo hoo! Happy days.
We have a number of locations in the company that worked for these photographs. In many respects these are sort of stock photography, but it features our actual employees which is even better.
We shot this over two days in several locations with different groups of employees. It is nice to have someone handling the producing duties. All I had to do was bring lighting and a camera and we were good to go. I did the retouching for all of these photographs. I whittle down the initial shot to the best photos, and then the client will pick their favorite photos and those are the ones that get touched up in Photoshop. I use to do that with portrait clients, but I realized things went better and smoother if I pick the images. That is the main difference between corporate and private clients.
Most of these photographs were shot with one large light. This kept us mobile. In one case we did use two lights. I had to avoid the holiday decorations. We wanted to keep the photos a little more timeless, and Christmas trees wouldn’t help much.
There will be plenty of options when these photos are used on the Careers page. The page itself lists all the job openings at the corporate headquarters.
