I was the event photographer for the Utah AIDS Foundation’s Oscar Night Gala 2016. The event was held at the Rail Events Center near Downtown Salt Lake City. The money raised will be used by the UAF to help those with HIV/AIDS and also help with prevention of HIV in Utah.
The Rail Events Center has played host location for the Oscar Night Gala. The night begins with the VIP reception, silent auction, socializing, light Jazz, and hors d’oeuvres.
It is similar to a wedding reception for me, except no cake cutting, bouquet toss, or other wedding based activities. There are some musical groups, dancers, and other entertainment for the night.
And there has been a photo booth with props for the last few years; hilarity ensues.
Here are some great food photos of standard food. Because everyone wants to see salad and rolls in photographs! Well, the catering people can use the photos for their marketing, woo hoo! That’s why you photograph the dang salad, people!
The emcees for the evening have been from channel 4’s Good Day Utah. I think that is the right name for the group. I’m too lazy to google the name at the moment. I think I need more caffeine. And yes, I’m typing that right now. I’m crazy!
The evening also had some dance performers in between commercial breaks. Our own “So You Think You Can Dance.”
