My dad loves sailing. And he actually loves teaching sailing even more than that! And in addition to teaching scouts, students, and youth groups the finer points of sailing he is teaching the family and grandkids how it all works.
We joke that he has built an armada of small sailboats but he has about 30+ boats at his disposal. We head to Utah Lake and I always bring my camera to create some photographs of the family enjoying boat time. The photos are also available to the Utah Yacht Club on Facebook. Photos are always a great way to get people’s attention.
The grandkids love the chance to go to the lake. And if there is little to no wind sometimes you just float the boat in the water and paddle. But they have been pretty lucky and they are able to get around the lake pretty well—or at least they stay in the small marina area. Then dad can keep an eye on everyone and make sure they are practicing safe boating habits.
And then some of the family enjoys a bit of kayaking. Nothing fancy, no flips or stuff. But they do have a keen time on the water. And I have some fun photos to share with the family afterwards.
