Two newborn baby photography shoots blogged in one week? Don’t worry… I have a third shoot I will be sharing later this week.
I traveled down to Arizona for my nephew’s baby blessing and also to meet him. While I was there I took the opportunity to photograph him. I am calling him a newborn but he was born in February and I photographed him in April. Either way we created some fun photographs of him… and his cousin Levi. I photographed Levi as a newborn as well… see Levi’s photos here.
Luke wasn’t too happy about his photo shoot at first. He did find some comfort from his mom when he cried. He did get some feeding as well. A newborn baby photo shoot can take a little while.
I also invested in some cheesecloth baby wraps in a variety of colors. These can be used to bundle babies or even just add some color to the photographs. The last baby shoot I did was primarily white background and faux white fur. This one we had tans, blues, and greens to choose from. It helps add some color to the photographs and we do get some great variety in our photos.
And of course it is important to shoot the baby’s features such as the fingers, toes, and eyelashes.
Luke’s cousin, Levi, was there to visit as well. So we photographed the two of them together. Luke is pretty slim compared to his tubby cousin. Granted, Levi has 2 months headstart but Levi is a pretty chunk-a-saurus. It was funny to see the two together. Luke was pretty sad at this point and his sadness and crying was a bit contagious and soon Levi was crying… in unison. I did capture a video of the two crying. But here you can see a sequence of going from curious to furious.
Since Levi was there we took a few photographs of Levi while Luke had a chance to cuddle with his mom. Sometimes a baby needs a break.
And here is Luke in is baby blessing outfit. Luke’s grandmother made the entire suit/outfit. Pretty handy!
