This was a fun photo shoot with Kristen. We decided to go to several different locations, have several wardrobe changes, and she brought along a friend who was a stylist to help. The stylist helped chose wardrobe, work on makeup, and get the hair just right. It was really helpful to have her there! I highly recommend a stylist, cause I suck at doing makeup.
We started the shoot in studio. We had the opportunity to change outfits more often in studio. On location it can be a bit of a challenge to change clothes. The car often becomes the place to change clothes. I am always waiting for TMZ to pop out and catch someone changing a shirt or something.
In south Salt Lake there is an abandoned train track line. I know that train tracks can be cliche for photographers, but most people don’t have a photograph of themselves with train tracks, so they are new for the client.
We ended our photo shoot out on the Great Salt Lake. It is the “poor man’s” Salt Flats. Part of the “beach” goes on for quite a while and it is flat, although it will make a mess of shoes so be prepared. It is muddy.
Since we were photographing at noon for this shoot I bought my portable battery pack to use with my studio light. This gives me creative control over the light and I can make our subject look their best.
