Get out your surprised looks, I shot these family photos with natural light with my small Fuji camera. The family was touring Main Street in autumn and we stopped occasionally to take some family photos. Shade works great for natural light photography although the first spot was in open sunlight, but with the sun behind the people, the photo works great. Those are two tips if you are shooting your own family photos. Sun behind the subject, or shoot in the shade.
We found one spot and photographed each kid individually and some in pairs, if they were siblings. This way, the grandparents a can update their photo wall. You have to work quickly when kids are involved. Sometimes you end up with a sad expression, but that has a deeper story sometimes.
Getting both kids to look at you at the same time can be a challenge.
And it is easier when they get older.
This photograph now hangs on the wall at Nana’s house. Print your photos!
