Keep Portland Weird—I Gotta Go Back and Photograph

by dav.d

Yeah, I am finally blogging a lot about Portland, Oregon. Maybe because whenever I hang with my friend Nicolesy I end up creating my best photographs. It also helps that this are photography trips so I am trying to find things to photograph. Like the weirdness that is Portland.

I live in Utah which has some beautiful landscapes and some interesting locations. But it can’t compare to the bigger markets like New York, San Francisco, Chicago, or Portland. I love visiting cities and just wandering the streets with my camera looking for cool buildings, unique people, awesome restaurants, and just to explore.

And I will call Portland a second home away from home. I’ve visited about 3 times in the last few years. I have the chance to photograph the waterfalls and landscapes. I hope to photograph more of the city and the surrounding neighborhood. Everything is just so unique and different.

Portland is the place that 20 year old homeless go to retire. When they decide to get a real job they go to Seattle. Portland might also be one of the meccas for hipsters. I like to watch the weirdness myself.

Me! I'm weird.

Me! I’m weird.

Right now street photography is “all the rage in the salons.” All the cool photographers are doing it and Portland definitely is a goldmine for street photography.
