I had the pleasure of photographing Josh & Andrea the evening they and their little family were sealed for time and all eternity in the Payson Utah Temple. I was a cold and windy night by the time they left the temple. It is a good thing we created photographs the week before at the Provo Orchard and Provo Castle.
For those who many not know, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believe a husband and wife can be sealed for time and all eternity. In short it is considered an eternal marriage. Any children that are then born to the parents are automatically sealed and sons and daughters to the parents. However, sometimes families were married outside the temple, they and the children can be later sealed together. That is what happened with the Peck family.
So the first photos I am sharing were shot the week before at the State Hospital in Provo. There is an apple orchard and the amphitheater which are available for portrait photography for a small fee. I usually suggest several locations to a couple and they were thrilled with the orchard. The week before we had pretty significant snowfall, so we had some snow left over for the photos. It makes it pretty unique and pretty cool.
We added in their two little ones for some family photos. And then added in Grandma and Grandpa and then the rest of the family. Normally for wedding shoots I offer a complimentary engagement session and I’m pretty flexible, so we turned the shoot into a family shoot/formal wedding shoot.
And here are the photos from the Payson Temple. The ceremony and interior of the temple is off limits to photography. So we have just the outside for photos after the actual sealing ceremony has been performed. The wind was blowing something fierce, so I wasn’t able to use an umbrella or other light modifier, but even bare bulb creates some awesome family photos.
Congrats, Josh & Andrea!
