My friend Brian asked if I would help photograph a wedding at the Canterbury in Bountiful, Utah. It was a late October wedding and absolutely beautiful. We has some color in the trees and the autumn leaves were fading in some areas and beautiful in others.
We started with getting ready photos with the bride. It can be fun to photograph the hair, makeup, and preparation a bride goes through for her wedding day. The guys, the groom and groomsmen, don’t have a lot of getting ready. It is the bride’s day typically so we focus on the bride a lot.
It is also a chance to photograph the details of the wedding. Photographing the wedding gown, flowers, rings, decorations, autumn leaves, and more. From what I have heard, the more photographs of decorations the more likely a wedding could be featured in a magazine or national blog. But it shouldn’t be a competition, or should it?
During the “getting ready” session the photographers can always step out of the room if they bride and company need some more privacy. We are there to serve you!
The candid moments are the best. Hopefully, you look back and get a kick out of these memories.
We photographed the surrounding area and even some autumn leaves hanging on for one more day.
We then photographed the groom with his parents and photograph the groomsmen. Everyone looks great in the tuxedos. The ceremony is almost ready to begin.
And here are the photographs of the actual ceremony. The ceremony was outdoors in the little courtyard and they have a string quartet performing the music. The autumn atmosphere really made this a dream wedding.
Loren was the Maid of Honor. I hope someday I get to be a Maid of Honor… but I might be too old now 🙁
After the ceremony we photographed the family, bridal party, and the bride and groom.
The light was fading fast and we didn’t have much time before we lost the daylight.
We then photographed some of the details such as wedding rings, bouquet, and kept an eye on the events. The bride serenaded the groom. There was the first dance. The bride and groom had a showdown over the cake and whether it would be smashed in the face.
The grand exit at the end featured bubbles and sparklers and a great reaction from the groom. I was able to get a few photos of the limo before the exit and some photos of them inside the limo.
Lots of photos for this wedding!
