I had the opportunity to be a second shooter for Three Winks Photography this autumn and help photograph a fall wedding at Rose Sachs Gardens in Parley’s Canyon between Salt Lake City and Park City. And I don’t know what this couple did to anger the rain gods, but anger them they did! It rained buckets of water. There was discussion of bringing the wedding indoors but they decided to hold the wedding outdoors. The wedding guests had umbrellas and it was a sea of umbrellas. People helped protect the bride and groom from the elements. This will not be a wedding to forget, by anyone in attendance.
The bride’s dress was handmade and harkens to a classic era. It really matches the style of the bride and groom They planted a tree together. There are a number of customs such as lighting a candle together or planting a tree together. I heard the mob buries a body together… or I made that up.
I really like this photos of the bride and groom’s first kiss. It is in the rain and surrounded by umbrellas.
Although it is not traditional the wedding cake is a raspberry cheesecake and I approve 100%!
And I don’t know if I am just lucky or maybe I am the cause of the epic cake smash. These things happen a lot or more and more. We have the groom smashing cake onto the bride and then she returns the favor. As long as they kiss afterwards then life is good.
