Every once in a while I have the chance to photograph models! Often this happens at some seminars and workshops. This was a workshop held in Lindon at the Utah County Co-op. They arranged for some models, fire, motorcyles, and bows and arrows.
These photos are long exposures which means cameras on tripods and we would use one studio strobe to light the model and then a person would take a stick with cloth soaked in a flammable liquid.
Playing with fire is something you should do with caution and responsibility. Don’t try this at home. Sparklers also help! So there are other options to fire. But how else do you create the cover of a Hunger Games movie poster? You need fire… and a bow & arrow.
And this just shows there are countless ways to create a unique portrait. Woo hoo!
