Food Photography for Valentine’s Day and Beyond

by dav.d

I’m back with more food photography! The last year has just been amazing for food photography. I’ve photographed a number of assignments and my images are getting better and better and I am defining a bit of a style in my food photography.

These photographs were created for the Apron Strings Blog.

The first recipe should be a replacement for PF Chang’s Lettuce Wraps. Charred Onion bowls which can be filled with anything yummy. Doesn’t everyone love onions? Lettuce is boring and bland. Onions are the wave of the future!

This is a particular favorite photograph of mine and I should add it to my food photography portfolio. Which, I should be updating regularly anyway. This dish is the Southwest Soba Noodle Bowl With Ginger Jalapeño Broth (Vegan). The lighting setup really helps the noodles and colors pop. Here is a direct link to the recipe.

I’m usually not a fan of puns… at least lazy puns. In honor of Valentine’s Day this is a heart beet salad. Ha ha! Get it? I don’t get it.

Beet Salad. Heart beet salad.

And finally the fruit dip with fruit kabobs. Even though the heart shaped fruit looks cool the featured food is the fruit dip. So we brought that front and center.

I’m hoping we’ll have another batch of food photography in a month. Woo hoo!
