The following food photography was shot with one light. It’s pretty amazing the quality you can get and it gives it a natural and pleasing look to the food. It works pretty well with portraits as well, but that’s a different topic.
And here are some pizzas that should go huge on the wall. They are hand tossed, baked in a portable wood fired oven, and then we put them on this wood cutting board for their closeup. It makes you want to visit Italy, or feel pangs of hunger. Yum.
More and more I am photographing the LUX employees in action. They want to use the photos in marketing. So hopefully you’ll see these photos in print, online, and social media.
They also have a ramen and phở station with all the fixings to customize soup for your taste. This event was going to serve about 1,500 people if I remember correctly.
We made up a sample Phở soup for photography.
And we photographed the desserts on the racks and while capturing the food so it looks tasty, I was also trying to get creative in my composition and layering in the metal racks that held the food in place. I was able to get some cool photographs as a result. It’s smart to get the safe shots, and then fun to get the creative shots. And then I show the fun ones online, yay!
