Exploring Downtown SLC for Photo Locations

by dav.d

Walking, possibly the one exercise most Americans can and should try. I think we are too addicted to our cars and spend more time behind the wheel than we should. Every once in a while it is nice to just get out of the car and walk around—and of course I have my camera in hand.

I was on a early morning photo walk one Saturday and I found this very cool location. I believe this is the old loading docs for the Salt Lake Tribune. It was down a small road that almost qualifies as an alleyway. I would have never found it had I not been wandering the streets of Salt Lake City.

I definitely have a goal to get out and photograph more. It helps me get physically fit and also allows me to find locations for portrait sessions. I love the urban feel of downtown Salt Lake City. It is relatively clean but has great character.

And with locations like this we have at least 4 different backgrounds for a portrait. Pick a color or use all three! And that doesn’t include the brick background as well.

I should wrap up this blog post, I am going to go wander the streets of Provo now and find some cool locations to photograph.
