Sometimes a couple just needs the wedding reception. They elope or get married on the spur of the moment and friends & family demand a chance to celebrate. Oliver and Dustin were one of those couples who decided to marry before the end of 2017 and they help the reception in the summer. They chose their backyard which is amazing and a wonderful spot for a reception. They even brought in LUX Catering & Events to run the event.
And bow ties make the man.
We shot the couple and some family photos before the guests arrived. We photographed in the front yard where the lighting was good and we had a great background.
Not all the family was available at the beginning so there is a larger group photo later in this post. Sometimes we play things by ear and keep things flexible. I try to be as flexible as possible. We’re there to support the newly married couple. And it pays to be prepared! I have my lights ready in most cases for just moments like these.
While we were waiting for people to arrive we shot some headshots that would make LinkedIn proud. I’m there, I don’t mind.
I usually keep my camera assembled as I am leaving just in case there are any last second photographs that need creating.
