Congrats to Dave & Jenn! They were married at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple in South Jordan, Utah. This was an LDS or Mormon wedding. They are performed in LDS temples and only faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints may enter. So obviously, no cameras allowed inside for the ceremony. Marriage is regarded as a sacred ordinance in the LDS church.
Temples are always beautifuly decorated and this time of year had tulips still in bloom. It was an overcast day which can be perfect for weddings as long as it doesn’t rain. The overcast sky provides a nice soft and even light. Often weddings are held at midday when when sun is directly overhead. The photos in sunny noon don’t look so great. So mother nature liked us this day.
For Dave and Jenn this is a second wedding for them. So it is a little bit of a Brady bunch situation in the household now. I am sure they’ll have plenty of adventures.
We start with the big group shot on the steps in front of the temple. We then photograph each half of the family and then we focus on the bride and groom. Depending on the size of the family and the different combinations it can go quickly or take a while to photograph.
This is a Photoshop Composite. I took Dave and Jenn from one photograph and added them to a different background. And it looks really and more importantly it looks better than the originals.
Being a second wedding often means a more simple wedding reception or in this case lunch for the family and a cake cutting. The wedding cake (and cupcakes) were beautiful.
Dave and Jenn then left through a shower of flower petals and took off in the wedding Mini Cooper for their honeymoon. Congrats!
