Yep, another post from a photo shoot from several years ago. I photographed Dave for his Salt Lake City Mayoral campaign. And he decided to run for the Salt Lake County Mayor position a few years later.
And these photos are straight out of camera. Dave asked to keep them as true to life as possible. So other than using a portable light to make him look his best, and then come color correction, this is the true Dave.
I love the blurry backgrounds in these portraits. Perhaps just the photographers will think about these things, but I think it makes a huge difference. Blurry backgrounds and long lenses are just 2 things that will separate phones’ cameras from the big cameras.
Exchange place is a favorite spot for me. There are so many spots to photograph and so many different textures. This summer I had my photos created at this location and they turned out great.
And of course, we have a variety of outfits. Changing shirts, sport coats, and ties helps create variety for a bunch of campaign photographs.
