Dancer Misha’s Photo Shoot in Studio

by dav.d

Sometimes weather doesn’t cooperate. We had a huge photo shoot planned in February and driving to the studio was literal white out conditions. Models, dancers, and others were dropping out like crazy, so we moved the shoot back a week. Even then, a number of models dropped out. But Misha was there and she did an awesome job. We used several different backgrounds for the photo shoot. We were using similar lighting for another model, otherwise it would have been fun to break out some gelled lighting to take it to the next level. Maybe next time.

The studio that I rent in Draper has several walls, seamless rolls, and other textures for backgrounds. It was pretty easy to wheel the main light around for the different backgrounds. We have a changing room and a separate restroom on hand for changing and a makeup table. Pretty cool.

The other model wanted a Miami Vice look, and we had this roll of pink seamless photo. So we had Misha posing in front of the background.

Misha is a dancer for SKYFALL which is a circuit dance night on the last Friday of the month in Salt Lake City. Last year I had the chance to photograph several of their dance nights. It’s loud, lit, and fun.
