Countdown to the Holi Festival of Color in Spanish Fork Utah

by dav.d

In less than a month there will be thousands of people visiting Spanish Fork, Utah. The Holi Festival is celebrated at the Sri Sri Radha Krsna Temple towards the end of March. One person joked that there will be 8,000 BYU students and about 8 Krishna in attendance. It also counts as Utah’s only hippie festival.

I will be there with my camera because this is perhaps the most fun and most photographed event in the state. So many people, so much color, and a lot of energy. It takes place on Saturday and Sunday, March 30-31. You can check out my gallery of photographs from last year on my SmugMug website.

In addition there will be music and food. The event is drug and alcohol free.

So be sure to find me—I don’t know what I will be wearing but I will have my big camera and it will be wrapped in plastic to protect it from the dust. I am hoping Spring keeps warming up and we have bright blue skies.
