I photographed Aaron for some corporate headshots. These headshots are pretty easy and pain free. I used two lights from my portable lighting kit and it takes about 15 minutes with setup.
Some people are only recognized with their glasses. So when I am photographing someone with glasses I will photograph them with and without glasses. There are two reasons… so they have options. They might like the non-glasses version. The second reason? I can use the non-eyeglass version to Photoshop in replacement eyes in case there is a lot of glare on the glasses. The eyes are a window to the soul and you don’t want glare and reflection to block the eyes.
There are a few tricks to reducing glare on glasses. One trick is to tip the glasses so the arms of the glasses don’t rest on the ears but are a half inch higher on the head. This can work but it isn’t guaranteed. Thank goodness for instant feedback with digital cameras.
These two headshots were created in the same spot. We just rotated the lights and the person so we had 2 different backgrounds for the photos. It is pretty easy to get a variety of looks and backgrounds if you just turn around.
