It is the Christmas season! And if you celebrate Hanukkah, Festivus, New Years… happy holidays!
I am a Christmas person. I love the decorations, lights, atmosphere, movies, family gatherings, egg nog, and more. I went to the Festival of Trees for the first time and I decided to bring along a camera. I figured I could create some awesome computer desktop wallpaper or something. Some of these would work great on an iPhone or something perhaps.
The Festival of Trees is a fundraiser for the Primary Children’s Hospital. All proceeds go to help patients at the hospital. Trees, gingerbread houses, wreaths, and more are created by families who have had someone go through the hospital. In some cases the person didn’t make it and others they were able to recover. Believe me, I had to keep from crying at the various trees. It is very generous what these families have done.
The trees are sold and some of them are pretty pricey. Some of the trees come with presents, packages, and gifts. Many of the trees come with a theme… there were some Star Wars themed trees and they came with Star Wars action figures and toys. There were several Disney themed trees with Mickey Mouse and others. They seemed to have something for everyone… even BYU Fans! #GoCougars
The festival happens at the beginning of December and is held in the Sandy Expo Center. It is only there for a few days so plan ahead.
I don’t know if I’ll be blogging much this week… if not, Merry Christmas!
