Photographing large groups is challenging. We have to find a spot that accommodates everyone. The goal is to see everyone’s face. And we need all eyes open for at least one photograph. Often there is face or eye swapping. I have to dodge and burn a face that was in too much shadow.
This is the second year in a row that I photographed the Nu Skin Americas group. They are responsible for the business in all the Americas, both north and south.
I brought in my lighting and we used a stage that was left from an event the day before. This was able to tier the people into levels. We still had a lot of people to work with. And we picked this spot because of the Christmas lights behind them. Hooray for using the space around us. Last year we used a Christmas tree for the background.
Afterwards we created one photograph of the upper management. It required moving the lights around and I have to be fast. Presidents and directors are not too patient. So I’m glad my gear is wireless, portable, and quick to modify.
