I love the smell of brunch in the morning. Le Croissant Catering did an amazing job with the fresh baked pastries and fresh fruit for the brunch held in the rotunda of the Utah State Capitol building. Usually the capitol is the scene of politics and bridal photography. Well, Saturday it was all about the food.

Photographing catering is a bit different than regular food photography. Regular food photography can take a few hours for just one dish. At an event like a brunch I have to get as many photos and angles of various foods in just a few minutes. For some of the photographs I wanted a moody lighting setup. For a few other photographs I went with a more natural light look for the food photos.

I wasn’t there for long, the brunch was going to start soon and I also had a swim meet to photograph. The swim meet was also catered—well, they had some bagels. You can’t beat Le Croissant Catering. It has been wonderful to work with them.
