It was a beautiful spring afternoon for Becky & Stephanie’s wedding. I love spring and summer weddings because the color is new or different and it isn’t the temperature of Mercury like a July wedding. Not that I would turn down weddings in July.
The wedding was held in Layton’s Chantilly Mansion which has a huge green area which works great for photography.
Here are some of the wedding details including signage, wedding cakes, and the bouquet.
We had a first look at the bottom of the stairs which is a great moment for the couple to see each other before the wedding and to capture some of the emotion. It always depends on the couple’s preferences. Some want to wait till the wedding ceremony. I know that many videographers LOVE first looks. In fact they will stage about 2 or 3 run throughs to get the perfect shot. We did this in one take.
We then shot the family portraits, formals, and bridal party before the ceremony. We did shoot the wedding couple again when the sunset, and the lighting was even better.
We’ll do any combination you can think of during this time. If you want to send a list before hand, that is helpful, especially if you think you might forget anyone. However, we’re fine play it by ear as well. But if Uncle Jasper forgets to show up… that’s on him! 😉
Time for the ceremony. They held the ceremony under the gazebo in the front under the trees. It was a truly magical location, especially with the trees in full floral bloom.
Pinterest is fulling the creative guestbooks. Pinterest is a great resource for expensive wedding ideas!
At one point, when the lighting is perfect, I was able to steal the couple for a small photo session. We photographed in about 4 locations. We have to dodge and weave through well wishers. We don’t have a lot of time, and it is a social event. But we really wanted to get these last few photographs.
I love capturing wedding ring photos that are unique and different.
Congrats, Becky & Stephanie!
