Hooray for California! I live in Utah where we have 4 seasons… California has 2 seasons: perfect and almost perfect. I was the wedding photographer for Lisa and Noah. They live in Newport Beach, California and they found me through a friend of a friend on Facebook. They liked my photography enough for me to travel to California to photograph their wedding and their engagements.
We went to the pier and beach by the heart of Newport Beach. We were there right during the golden hour and as the sun was setting on the horizon. The beach is a great location for photos. A lot of the time when photographing in the sunset we are rushing against a disappearing sun, literally. So we try to be as efficient as possible and make the couple look amazing as if they are having the best walk on the beach ever.
I wouldn’t mind more trips to photograph engagement and weddings. I won’t call the job of California photographers easy… they do have higher taxes than Utah. But the scenery and near perfect weather year round make it difficult not to create awesome photographs.
And with my portable lighting kit we can work when the sun is gone or going. We were blessed with a beautiful skyline and view during the session.
