Always give yourself plenty of time to get to a wedding! I was almost late. I and half the people going to the wedding, including the caterer, were almost late because the highway was shutdown due to a multi-vehicle car accident across multiple lanes. Talk about nerves. I probably shouldn’t mention this to give the appearance that I am perfect but I like to be honest and exclaim “stuff happens!”
The wedding was held at the Castle Park Event Center in Lindon, Utah. This was my first time at the event center and we were in the upper level for the wedding ceremony.
At the time of this wedding Gay Marriage was in legal limbo in Utah. Right now the court case is pending in front of the Supreme Court. However, we can have a commitment ceremony and treat it like a wedding.
If you haven’t seen Celina and Jen’s engagement photos, see them here.
The ceremony was indoors and as usual the flower girl didn’t throw down one flower petal. She did at the end of the aisle as she stood next to the brides. You never know what will happen with flower girls and ring bearers.
And now to show off the beautiful and tasty wedding cake. And they cut the cake and there was absolutely no cake smash!
And now for the brides’ first dance.
Jen is a big time fan of Doctor Who. So someone brought a Tardis wedding cake. I understand the Tardis cake is larger on the inside.
We did the group and family photographs outside. They have a spire or I don’t know the proper word. It looks similar to the Kremlin photos you always see. Like a soft serve frozen yogurt.
The wedding was beach themed. The colors, decorations of sand and seashell so photographing the wedding rings on seashells made sense. It’s my chance for creative jewelry photography.
And they did have a photo booth where people could photograph each other with their cellphones. Someone even brought a wireless printer to print photos instantly. I want one! I would charge an arm and a leg for it at events!
We waited till the sun started setting for some brides’ formal portraits. The sunlight was right behind the brides and it was beautiful.
