Hooray, I had the chance to combine pet photography and product photography. They say in Hollywood to never work with children and pets. Well, I don’t live in Hollywood, and it is fun to work with pets. Even when one has an accident on the floor during the photo shoot. That is why god invented cleaning supplies.
Anyway, back to the photo shoot. I was hired to photograph a new dog treat for Rocco & Roxie. They sell their products through Amazon.com. They wanted some photograph of the actual product, product packaging, and some lifestyle photographs of people feeding their dogs. We had 3 dogs on hand to be models. They ate ton of treat for the photo shoot.
The client had found a house to be the location for our shoot. We shot in several of the rooms of the house. We wanted a variety of backgrounds. They also wanted to blur the backgrounds so I had to use my prime lenses to get these shots. I used my portable lighting kit to create these photographs.
With product photography we want to get the right color. I use a ColorChecker passport to get accurately mapped colors for products. We did a few photographs on white as well. We can mask those out for shopping carts but for the time being they’re not using those.
