1,000 Words is a new forum that will be an monthly event in Provo, Utah. Tuesday night was the inaugural event with 3 speakers who shared life changing moment in a photograph. The speakers included Seth Adam Smith, Melissa Sevy, Jenny Nichols. It was similar to a TedEX event, but it focus on one photograph that inspired or reflected their life’s activities. One was a viral blogger who writes about suicide. Another started non-profits to help women entrepreneurs in Uganda, and one is a videographer/photographer who works for conservation practices around the world.
Nu Skin supplied the location and even had on had a churro stand, videographers, and some time to network and socialize. It was a pretty cool event. If you missed it, they plan on this being a regular monthly event. The next event is August 28th.
San Diablo was the churro vendor and the deep fried churros were particularly yummy. I enjoyed a Nutella and habañero flavored churro. It was tasty without the burn. Or I am desensitized to spicy food, do don’t trust me on the heat index.
They had Alexander on hand playing his own musical creations before hand. The doors opened at 6pm and the event started at 7pm. It was a chance to network and socialize.
There were a number of social media mavens on hand to share on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
And there was the whole video crew from Nu Skin for the event. They had 3 cameras going to document the event. And I was the event photographer for the evening, yay!
