I was the event photographer for Force for Good Day at my day job. Each year the company collects books and school supplies that will be donated to local children in need. Volunteers will help put the kits together, there are some speeches, and there is a BBQ lunch to say thanks to the volunteers.
It’s a good thing I always have my camera on me… I was asked to photograph the event and I always go above and beyond. They may need only a handful of photos but I photograph like this is the last event on earth and end up with several hundred photos.
It is important to photograph the people in charge. The CEO, CFO, and other board members were on hand to make some speeches, greet the Governor’s aid, and help out with the service project.
Employees are encouraged to bring their friends and families to help out. Many people bring their kids which is a great way to teach service and teach hard work.
Around noon there is a BBQ with fresh grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. HR helps grill the meat and get people fed.
And I don’t know if they were paid to show up be we had some cosplay characters on hand for some photo ops. We had Supergirl, Hawkeye, Iron Man in Hulkbuster costume, Elsa from Frozen, and last but not least Captain America. They had some pretty nice costumes.
